Here a few reminders:
  1. DCSD Town Hall Meeting District 3 @ Columbia HS: Wednesday, October 9, 2024: 6pm-7:30pm in CHS Cafe. Please join us to hear from Superintendent Dr. Devon Q. Horton and DCSD Leaders. 
  2. CHS Presents Homecoming 2024: October 7-11. Please see the attached document for list of activities. 
  3. CHS Homecoming Game: Friday, October 11, 2024 @ 7pm @ Halford Stadium. No tailgating allowed at the stadium per DCSD Athletics.
  4. Governor's Honors applications due Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Check the school's website for more info. 
  5. DCSD Fall Break 2024: Monday, 10.14.24-Friday, 10.18.24. No school for students and staff. School closed the entire week. 
  6. SAT/SAT Day: Wednesday, 10.23.24.  PSAT (All 10th GradersFree), SAT (All 12th GradersFree), PSAT (Select 11th Graders11th Graders must pay a fee to test). Please see attached PSAT/SAT document for more information. 
  7. School Picture Day: Due to school closing for Hurricane Helene school pictures have been rescheduled for Friday, 11.1.24. DCSD soon will begin requiring all students to have a school ID to enter athletic events, so it is important that every student take a school picture.  School IDs are free. 
  8. DCSD Rocks the Vote Campaign: Eligible students will have an opportunity to participate in DCSD Rocks the Vote Early Voting event. More details to follow. 
  9. Dress Code: Parents please be mindful of the DCSD dress code.  Although midriffs tops and shorts are allowable, please speak to your child about appropriate dress for school and in "good taste". 
  • No headgear is allowed at school (hats, scarves, bonnets, skullcaps, beanies, etc.)
  • Students must wear shoes that are secured to the back of their feet (no house shoes, slides, flip-flops, etc.).
  • Students are not allowed to wear pajamas to school unless it is for a special event such as homecoming. 
  1. DCSD Disconnect to Reconnect Initiative: No phone usage during instructional time.  Students are allowed to use phones during lunchtime and during transitions. 
  2. School Hours: 8:10am-3:10pm M-F.
  3. Student Drop off and Pick up: CHS Gymnasium/Lower Parking Lot
  4. Bookbags: Only clear or mesh bookbags are allowed at CHS.  All other bookbags will be confiscated and returned to students at the end of the school year.
