Here a few reminders
  1. 9- Week Progress Reports were issued on Friday, 10.25.24.  Please check parent portal for progress report or ask your child for the copy they received during homeroom on Friday. 
  2. Principal Advisory Council (PAC) Meeting: Meeting was cancelled and will be rescheduled for another date.  Stay tuned. 
  3. Class of 2025 Graduation Date: Wednesday, May 21, 2024 @ 7pm Georgia State Convocation Center
  4. DCSD Rocks the Vote Campaign: Eligible students will have an opportunity to participate in DCSD Rocks the Vote Early Voting event on Wednesday, 10.30.24.  Registered students with signed permission slips will be bussed to an early voting location to vote and celebrate their first time voting. 
  5. CHS presents the 6th Annual "No Tricks, All Treats" Halloween celebration 4pm-6pm @ Columbia HS on Thursday, 10.31.24.  This event is for babies/toddlers, preschoolers, and K-5 students only.  Please join us for an exciting evening for treats, games and fun. Costumes are welcome.  Special Note* CHS Students participating in this event may wear costumes to the event only—not to school.*
  6. CHS students are NOT ALLOWED to wear costumes nor masks to school on Thursday, 10.31.24 for safety reasons.  
  7. School Picture Day: Friday, 11.1.24. DCSD soon will begin requiring all students to have a school ID to enter athletic events, so it is important that every student take a school picture.  School IDs are free. 
  8. Teacher Workday(Election Day): Tuesday, 11.5.24—No School for students.  
  9. Parent-Teacher Conference Night: Wednesday, 11.13.24 4pm-6pm. 
  10. Dress Code: Parents please be mindful of the DCSD dress code.  Although midriffs tops and shorts are allowable, please speak to your child about appropriate dress for school and in "good taste". 
  • No headgear is allowed at school (hats, scarves, bonnets, skullcaps, beanies, etc.)
  • Students must wear shoes that are secured to the back of their feet (no house shoes, slides, flip-flops, etc.).
  • Students are not allowed to wear pajamas to school unless it is for a special event such as homecoming. 
  1. DCSD Disconnect to Reconnect Initiative: No phone usage during instructional time.  Students are allowed to use phones during lunchtime and during transitions. 
  2. School Hours: 8:10am-3:10pm M-F.  Students will be marked tardy after 8:10am and may receive a consequence for repeated tardies. 
  3. Student Drop off and Pick up: CHS Gymnasium/Lower Parking Lot
  4. Bookbags: Only clear or mesh bookbags are allowed at CHS.  All other bookbags will be confiscated and returned to students at the end of the school year.
